The parish of São Cipriano, in the municipality of Resende, has a long history marked by archaeological remains, literary references, and a strong cultural identity linked to music. It gained national prominence through The Illustrious House of Ramires, by Eça de Queirós, inspired by the Torre da Lagariça, now a Property of Public Interest. Known as the “Village of Music,” due to its strong philharmonic tradition represented by its two century-old bands and the folk group that preserves regional dances and songs. The Cabrum valley is known for its lush natural surroundings, steep slopes, and diverse fauna and flora, including the presence of birds, foxes, wild boar, and Arouquesa cattle in the surrounding pastures. The Cabrum River and its valley are central elements in the geography, nature, and leisure activities of the parish of São Cipriano.
