The Executive Board of the Parish Council of São Cipriano attended, this afternoon, the commemorative concert of the 185th anniversary of the Banda Velha, a moment of great significance for our village and for all those who live music with passion.
The afternoon was marked by several special moments, notably the farewell to Maestro Carlos Francisco, who conducted his last concert with the band today, in an emotional moment marked by the presentation of a small token in recognition of his work, dedication, and invaluable contribution over the years.
Another moment of great symbolism was the tribute to former musician and member Silvio Augusto, to whom a march composed by Daniel Lourenço was dedicated, as a gesture of respect, remembrance, and appreciation for those who helped build the history of the Banda Velha.
The Parish Council congratulates the Banda Velha on its 185 years of history, thanks all the musicians, leaders, and collaborators, and wishes them the greatest success for the future, keeping alive the musical tradition that so well identifies São Cipriano – the Village of Music.
